Pentecost weekend is a long weekend in late spring or early summer in Norway. It is popular to spend time outdoors or in the garden. However, using motorized lawn mowers or power tools is prohibited.

Birth of the Christian Church

It is the day after Pentecost or Whit Sunday, which is on the 50th day after Easter Sunday, and it marks the birth of the Christian church worldwide.

Whit Monday has no particular religious content of its own. Traditionally, certain Christian holidays have been celebrated for three days, and Whit Monday is the third day of Pentecost, starting on Whit Saturday / Pentecost Eve.
